Q.

I work on a horse farm and we have a rat problem. we have tried the traditional traps, posion and the good old barn cat and jack russel :) however there is just too many for them to keep up on. It is a constant battle. They do not seem to be attracted to the baited traps or bait boxes. We have been limited as to what we can posion with because of the dogs cats and horses... any suggestions?

I am also ordering for my home ant bait for Oderous House ants. It is the dead of winter and they are coming out of the floor around my furnace. I have had it. I chose the mMaxforce ant gel with fipronil for upstairs in the kitchen and the Maxforce complete granuals for the basement around the furnace. is there any harm in using them both but in seperate areas?
A.

Unfortunately, since there are animals nearby and you also have pets that chase the rodents, we cannot recommend any rodenticides, since rodent poisons do have a secondary kill effect. We suggest that you change the baits or use Provoke rodent attractant as well as glue boards that will catch the rodents. Leave traps alone for a few days at a time and try not to disturb them for at least 3 days. As for the ant bait, it will not do any harm using both, as long as they are not applied together in one spot.
