moth infestation, carpets and clothes

  I have had a moth problem for about 4 years now. It started in my last apartment for unknown reasons, and has apparently followed me to my new place. I discovered a few days ago that they have completely infested some rolled-up Tibetan rugs, and I am crushed. We have some pet cats in our place, so I need to make sure that whatever I use is pet-safe. I saw your comments about 565 Plus XLO, and I was also thinking of using pheromone straps for my clothing (which they also love *sob*). I really want to break the cycle, it's been too many years and thousands of dollars of things ruined. Please help!
