How do Bed Bug Steam Cleaners Work?

Although different bed bug steamers will vary in design, they all contain a boiler that you can pour water into. The boiler will, obviously, boil the water to a temperature that will definitely kill bed bugs, along with numerous other pests. These boilers are usually attached to some sort of hose or tube that will transfer the steam to the applicator head. Due to the fact that bed bug steamers come with different applicator heads, one can utilize the steamer for carpets, hardwood floors, beds, and even clothes.

Benefits of Bed Bug Steamers

In recent years, there is a growing concern to maintain not only the health and well-being of one’s loved ones, but also the safety of the environment. Consequently, a growing portion of society is searching for every possible chemical alternative available. Bed bug steam cleaners answer that search by emerging as revolutionary bed bug killers that don’t utilize chemicals at all. In addition to being chemical-free, steamers can be used in almost all areas, unlike most pesticides. Bed bug steam treatment can also be used directly on mattresses, furniture, and other areas of frequent and constant direct bodily contact. Although they seem quite pricey for an initial purchase, steamers actually save money over a long period of time because as long as there is water, there is a source for the steam. Pesticides, on the other hand, only last until they run out and will need to be replaced once they do. Steamers are also vastly multi-functional; not only will they kill bed bugs, but they will also kill other pests such as mites and mold spores, which commonly cause allergies. Furthermore, bed bug steam machines can also be utilized to clean and sanitize virtually every area in a home or building. But perhaps the most impressive feature of bed bug steamers is that certain ones can also kill eggs and larvae, which most pesticides cannot do.

Q. will any decent steam cleaner work
A.   Temperatures above 115 degrees F will kill bed bugs. The steamer must also have enough pressure to penetrate deep into the carpeting and fabric material. The steamers that are provided here will do so for you. Standard clothes steamers may not provide enough pressure.

Q. i have a hand held steamer and a steam mop. how long should i hold the steamer on each area to erradicate my biting mite or bed bug problem?
I am being eaten alive and have over 40 bites with new ones occurring daily. I am highly reactive to anything that bites causing large hot to the touch knots with each site. Most bites occur on the underside of both my arms (since I sleep on my back. This has been going on for over 6 weeks.) My son has pulled an adult bed bug from his side while it was feeding. He too has the same histamine reactions as I do. I can't see what is biting me. Our rooms are 12 feet from each other. What do I do? I have a temper pedic mattress on a platform wooden bed. He has a mattress insert in a wooden water bed. I am at my witts end. Pls reply fast.
A.   If you are using the steamer, you do need to make sure the steamer's temperatures are hot enough. Slowly and thoroughly clean your furniture with the steamer. To completely eradicate bed bugs, you may need to use insecticides. If you have any questions on insecticides, please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-788-4142.

Q. bed bug steamers
I have had bed bigs for almost two years and they seem impossible to get rid of. I recently saw that this site has a $299.99 steamer. Is it possible to use the steamer to heat up an entire room to up to 120 degrees to get rid of the bed bugs?
A.   Thank you for contacting us. It is not made for that use. The steamer is used to treat isolated areas of infestation. It's a more controlled way of applying heat to specific areas but cannot be used to heat up an entire room.
