CONTROL TIPS:

Apply Delta Dust thoroughly to all areas where these pests are typically found including: folds and tufts of mattresses, coils of springs, cracks and hollow posts of bedsteads, upholstery of chairs and sofas, picture frame moldings and all cracks and crevices in the room should be treated. Allow powder to remain in contact with surface 4-6 hours. Thoroughly vacuum treated areas, dispose of vacuum bag and place clean linens on bed.

When applying the Delta Dust, keep in mind that applying the dust in piles is not a good idea. It is recommended that you only apply a fine layer of dust on surfaces and not over-dust. Leaving piles of dust will only cause the insect to walk around the dust instead of walking through the dust. Heavy amounts of dust in an area can also cause health issues when too much dust is inhaled. Using a duster such as the Bellow Bulb Duster to apply a fine, thin coating on surfaces is highly recommended.

When treating the mattress pay particular attention to seams, folds, and under the fabric on the box spring. If the bed bug infestation is heavily populated on the box spring, consider removing the fabric on the bottom of the box spring and treat the inside area. Also treat the joints where the rails and headboard connect; this is a common hiding spot for bed bugs. If you plan to treat the mattress or box spring you must encase the mattress or box spring afterwards to prevent the possibility of inhaling excessive amounts of the dust.

Delta Dust can also be used to treat behind picture frames as well as electrical sockets and plate coverings. Treatment in electrical sockets is highly recommended because bed bugs commonly travel through the wall void areas and hide inside of the electrical sockets. Treating the electrical sockets with the dust will help control the number of the infestation from rapidly spreading from room to room. Check for any cracks or crevices and treat in those areas as well where liquid insecticide cannot be used, such as in areas with lots of electrical wiring; however, when treating those areas you should be very careful to prevent the possibilities of electric shock.

CONTROL TIPS

This water soluble powder is contact kill insecticide with a 2-3 month residual time. It is recommended that you mix 1 packet of the water soluble powder with 1 gallon of water.  The finished solution should be applied with a one gallon hand sprayer as a coarse, low-pressure spray to harborage areas including crevices, baseboards, loose plaster, behind bed frames and headboards, beneath beds and furniture, and to bedsprings and bed frames. Residual effectiveness will last up to three months. Try to make direct contact with as many bedbugs as possible. This product will not kill bed bug eggs.

CONTROL TIPS

This product is an Insect Growth Regulator that prevents bed bugs from being able to reproduce, effectively stopping the breeding cycle of an infestation which can help control their population to a minimum. Gentrol IGR has no killing effect; it only prevents them from being able to reproduce. Gentrol comes in a small brown bottle (1 oz.). Application: There are two ways to apply Gentrol IGR: (1) mix the 1 oz. bottle of Gentrol IGR with 1 9.5g packet of Demon and 1 gallon of water so that you may conveniently spray both chemicals at the same time, or (2) add 1 oz of Gentrol to one gallon of water and apply the diluted solution in all the areas where the Demon WP had previously been applied. A common place to treat would be along the floor and wall meeting points, behind head boards, and where the headboard and rail meets for the bed. DO NOT apply the Gentrol IGR to bed linens or mattresses.

Bellow Duster

The Bellow Bulb Duster is used to apply insecticide in dust form into small cracks and crevices where liquid forms of insecticide cannot and/or should not be applied. To use the duster, fill the rubber container (bellows) half-way full with the dust. Shake the duster then turn it facing down and squeeze (the fine dust will resemble smoke when released from the duster). By pressing down the bellows it will cause the dust to escape the metal tip of the duster. Using a duster will allow easier injection of the dust into hard to reach areas. Some recommended spots for dusting would be inside of the electrical sockets, behind picture frames, in-between the mattress and box spring, and in small cracks, crevices, or corners.

*The use of chemicals is a great way to approach your bed bug treatment. However, encasements for your mattress, box spring and pillows are definitely necessary. Bed bugs can survive without a food source for over 18 months. If they are to be hiding inside of the mattress, box spring or pillows then it will only extend the process of treatment and in the end you will have to invest more in the bed bug chemicals.

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU STAY AWAY FROM THE TREATED AREA FOR ATLEAST 3 HOURS.
