A.   For fleas, mix about 0.07-0.15 fluid ounces of Bifen XTS per 1 gallon of water. It does not state on the label that it will kill both larvae and eggs. Demize EC may be better suited for killing the flea eggs in addition to the fleas.

A.   Yes, there is an odor and the oil base will leave behind staining residue.

A.   Yes, you will need to vacate the pets and children in the area of application and can only come back as long as the product has completely dried.

A.   No, as stated in the product label that Bifen XTS must be stored only in the original containers.

A.   Thank you for contacting us. Studies show that not one is more effective than the other. Short term, Permethrin is known to be more effective and in a longer span, Bifenthrin shows more effectiveness. However, during the end of treatment, they both had about equal killing percentages. So it was concluded that not one is better than the other. Both work in misting systems.

A.   Yes, as stated in the product label that Bifen XTS may be tank-mixed with other products, including insect growth regulators. When tank mixing Bifen XTS with other products, observe all precautions and limitations on each separate product label.

A.   In treating lawn, we recommend applying Bifen XTS as a broadcast treatment in 2 to 10 gallons of carrier per 1000 sq. ft. When treating thick grass foliage, use higher volumes to get complete, uniform coverage.

For wood infesting insects, Apply a 0.06% dilution to voids and galleries in damaged wood and in spaces between wooden members of a structure and between wood and foundations where wood is at risk.

For Lawn Pests, Use a 0.06% in the early Spring to control overwintered Mole Crickets. Use the higher rate in lateSummer or early Fall to control adult Mole Crickets.

To increase control of later Summer or Fall Adult Mole Crickets, apply a non-ionic surfactant or a silicone based surfactant (0.25% v/v) as a tank-mix.

To maximize efficacy against sub-surface pests, apply Bifen XTS with a nonionic or silicone based surfactant (0.25% v/v) in enough water to ensure the spray penetrates to soil-thatch matrix.

Water treated areas with 0.25 to 0.5 inches of water immediately following application taking special care to prevent run-off or puddling.

To ensure that the best control of Armyworms, Cutworms, and Sod Webworms is achieved, postpone watering or mowing for 24 hours following application.

Dilution rates:

0.06% dilution - 0.32oz per gallon of water

0.12% dilution - 0.64oz per gallon of water

A.   You should not apply Bifen XTS if the rain comes in less than 30 minutes. As long as the product has completely dried, rain will not drastically change the effectiveness of Bifen XTS. We recommend applying this product when there is no rain in the forecast for at least 24 hours for safety.

A.   It will depend on the pest and what the circumstances are surround the infestation. For preventative measures, use 1.0-2.0 pints per 100 gallons of water.

For treatment of infested trees, use 2.0 pints per 100 gallons of water. To control other beetles such as Ambriosa beetles, elm bark beetles, and Emerald Ash borers, treat the trunk with a mixture of 1.0 to 2.0 pints per 100 gallons of water.

It is the best to contact or check with your local State Extension specialist for specific recommendations since the geographic location as well as the environmental conditions will affect the application rates.

A.   We recommend using 0.06% dilution for subterranean termites. Please read the Bifen XTS product label for more information about the mixing instructions.

A.   When using Bifen XTS in controlling bees, you will need to apply a 0.06% dilution late in the evening or when insects are at rest. Direct the spray at nest openings in the ground, bushes, and in cracks and crevices, where the insects may nest. Saturate the openings and contact as many insects as possible.

A.   Termites are on the product label so it will kill them. Use a 0.06% dilution for subterranean termites. Refer to the product label for extensive directions of use for termite treatment.

A.   You will need 6.4 to 12.8 fl. Oz. per 100 gallons as stated in the product label. We recommend reading the application rate for proper use of this product.

A.   If you have a water well, it is not recommended to do a ground treatment with a liquid concentrate insecticide. It is best to treat for termites with a monitoring system.

A.   We recommend using a lower rate in the early spring to control over wintered Mole Crickets and using higher rate in late summer or early Fall to control adult Mole Crickets.
