How to Get Rid of German Cockroach

German Roach, how to get rid of

HOW to GET RID of GERMAN COCKROACH

Cockroaches are one of the most common pests. They have an incredible ability to adapt to almost any environment. However they prefer to settle in moist and warm areas, commonly hiding in cracks and crevices. Cockroaches are mostly active during the night. Out of the 5 most commonly known species of cockroaches in the United States including German, American, Oriental, Brown-Branded, and Smokey Brown roaches, the German cockroach is the most common critter to infest insides of the home.

German cockroaches are pale to medium brown with two dark stripes on the surface of the prothorax and they are 1/2-5/8′ long. They can be brought into the home when they are just eggs through luggage if you went on a vacation and carried on vegetables, beverage cartons, grocery bags, and food carts. German cockroaches can consume anything. They are nocturnal and live close to their food source in moist areas. They cannot survive outdoors. German cockroaches can be found in kitchens and bathrooms, etc.

Inspection

Cockroaches like to be in places that are warm and moist. They can be found in kitchens, bathrooms, basements, crawl spaces, bathtubs, clothes hampers, drains, pipe chases, sewers, steam tunnels, dumps, mulch beds, ceilings, walls, behind pictures, in lights, appliance motors, furniture, firewood, around doors, windows, ventilation ports, under eves, cracks and crevices, weep holes, chimney area, gutters, and attics.

Control Methods

For indoor treatment, this treatment is most of the time treated against German cockroaches because they live in your home. We recommend that you use gels (ย MAXFORCE FC MAGNUM ROACH BAIT, ADVION ROACH BAIT GEL ), baits (ADVION ROACH BAIT STATIONS, MAXFORCE ROACH BAIT STATIONS ), and aerosol (565 Plus Xlo, GENTROL AEROSOL (IGR)). However you can also use liquid sprays (ARCHER IGR, LambdaStar 9.7% CS,ย FenvaStar EcoCap). You will apply the gel on the corners of the kitchen, in the cracks of appliances (refrigerators, microwaves, stove fans, etc.), under counters, cabinets, and sinks, and other small openings where cockroaches can enter. Place the bait station in places where they can hide. Place the stations adjacent to walls and corners, under appliances. You can place the granular insect bait inside the bait tray and place them where cockroaches are commonly seen. You can even hang them onto walls if you need to. Do not place a bait in places where it has been sprayed with a pesticide and do not spray on them. Do not place them where children and pets can reach. Before applying gels and baits, clean the surrounding areas first to get better results. Using aerosol or liquid spray, apply around door and window frames and walls, behind furniture, etc.

Is there a place I can buy your products at other then online? I have been fighting my roach (german) for 3 months now, we believe that they are coming from a neighbor because we live in an apartment building. But we have tried powder, gel, and spray. It seems like all three worked for a while, then the population just went back up. PLEASE HELP!!

    Hi Vanessa,

I’m sure there is a local store that distributes professional grade insecticides around you. However, we do not have information on their locations. I apologize. We can ship you products for free though, so if you are interested or have any questions, feel free to browse our online shopping mall or give us a call at 1-800-788-4142.

I live in NC in a trailer park. I have 5 dogs and worry about products that could be harmful to them. I would say I have moderate infestation. Of course just seeing one is enough to make my skin crawl. At night I’ll find roaches anywhere in my house and not just limited to any one spot or room, although mostly in the kitchen. I’ve also noticed roaches on the outside on the brick foundation of my mobile home. I can’t be sure they are “German” roaches but there seems to be more then just one kind…as far as color goes. Some are almost a burnt orange color while others are a dark brown. They all seem to be about a half inch long. What would you suggest that would be safe around my doggies and affective on possibly more then one type of roach.
    Thanks so much!!!
    Anne

    Hi Anne,
We recommend treating the outside of your house with Phantom Insecticide. All treated areas must be avoided until the area has completely dried. You should treat the entire perimeter of the home and target door frames, window frames, and any other potential entry points. Inside, use bait gel and stations. The Dupont Advion Roach Bait Gel should be applied in spots under the sink, under cabinets, and any other areas that is suspect to infestation but inaccessible by your pets. In areas like corners on the ground or other areas that are suspect to infestation but is accessible by your dogs, use the Maxforce Roach Bait Stations with Hydramethylnon. The Hydramethylnon stations are large enough to fit a variety of species. The other Maxforce stations are not large enough to fit any other roaches except for the small roaches, usually the German. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again! ๐Ÿ™‚

We have lived in our apartment for two yrs after we lost are home in a fire and lost everything. The apartment we moved in was only supposed to be tempoary due to its small and we have children. We are still here due to finances last year neighbors moved in and since then we have been infested with german roaches. So bad I am at my witts end I have tried everything to kill them and it seems like they are immune to it all. I even had to buy new appliances because they were in my tv and dvd player and would not play. Wats worse the landlord won’t do anything to adress the problem, moving is not an option at the moment so is there any thing I can do to kill these guys or am I just beat:-( help please.

  6. 6

    Hi Monica,
A couple of red flags went up while I was reading. One is that you live in an apartment. The second one is that you have children. Firstly, apartments will be difficult to treat regardless of the pest. For fast reproducing insects like German roaches, that also actually nest indoors, this is especially true and the entire building must be proactive in getting rid of the roaches. You will be able to delay a re-infestation, but it will be an ongoing issue unless every tenant is willing to be open to roach control in their homes as well. The second thing that is important is that you have children. The most important thing that you are careful about is the application of pesticides around children. All liquid sprays and aerosol spray treatments must be completely dried before reentry and dusts and gel baits should never be applied in areas where children can have access to. With that said, for German roaches, we recommend using gel baits, bait stations, and dusts. Gel baits are great because you are able to get as close to the nest without actually finding the nest. The same goes for bait stations. Gel baits will cling to surfaces and so we recommend using the gel baits in cracks and crevices under the sink, under the cabinets, behind the toilets, and behind the appliances like the refrigerator, stove, and even behind the laundry machines. For open corners on the floors or in closets and etc., we recommend using bait stations. They are the same active ingredient as the bait gels, but in tamper free stations that are safe to use around children and pets. Lastly, we recommend applying dust in the wall void area. The wall void area can be accessed by drilling holes by outlets and etc. Always take precaution around electricity so that you do not unknowingly hurt yourself. The dust we recommend is Delta Dust or Alpine Dust. You can apply the dust using a bulb duster like our Bellow Bulb Duster or the Centro Bulb Duster. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-788-4142 or email us at info@pestmall.com or you can even tune into our blog and check out my other blogs!

Since my last post on June 30th..!! It clearly appeared to me that I might have solved my problems with these nasty things crawling around in my kitchen. No bigs..no small ones and no tiny ones. 4 days later..HAHA..I am seeing tiny ones coming out late at night. NOW..!!!! ,, I am one totally upset..women..sincerely upset. A few days later ( while at work) I took a call from a customer whom needed to have some done to his account. I offered to send him an email with details. When he told me what his email addr was..I was astonished over the name. I asked him what he did for living. He is an exterminator!!! Might I say a quite profitable one at that. He told me if I ever had a problem ( Low & Behold..the angels from heaven just came down to see me through it!!)..that I could email him and he offered me his number too. Since I was working I did not want to get into a conversation over the phone about my situation. I did call him after work. He told me about a product that works to kill them off and keep them killed off for good!!! He was kind enough to send me this product 2-day priority mail. I got it. I used it. Its been almost 2 weeks now… and I am completely FREE..of all roaches. YES..completely gone.
So…after reading my story here on houselogic…I know you are probably biting at the bait ( pardon the pun ) to find out what this product is? It’s It’s…… ADVION Roach Gel Bait. YES… ADVION..by Dupont.. ADVION…!! Folks…stop buying other stuff..stop wasting your money. Go find this product and use it.
After even doing my research about this product… depending what state you live in…you might have to buy it online. I was mailed enough Advion to kill roaches in probably about 20 homes (FOREVER)…no joke. Take the time to go read about this product before you buy it.. I don’t work for Dupont, but I wish like “heck” I did.

    Hi Kim,
THANK YOU! HAHAH We’ve been telling our customers the same thing, that Dupont Advion Roach Bait for German roach control is not something to take lightly! It works and work fast. You can find it here in our store: http://www.pestmall.com/advion-roach-bait-gel.html

Okay so I am in sweltering southern heat but dealing with a recent German CR problem that just came out of nowhere even with a faithfully clean house. I have SERIOUS phobia about roaches so I wanted advice please on how to use my products & in what order.

I have: CY-Kick CS for outside, Cy-Kick Aerosol, Gentrol discs, and Harris Boric Powder w lure. Plus Hot Shot natural contact spray when they cross my path *SHIVERS* So, Where do I start? and what order should I go in?

Having said that there are pets to be mindful of AND I want to make sure the least toxic BUT effective product is in the kitchen/bedrooms so I want to to apply the right stuff in the right places.

Also, do I need to keep the AC off until the products are in place? (I read on the net I should) It’s really difficult to not have the AC on in August BUT if it makes a difference in in house pests…. it’s tough decision to make on that one. Please advise

  10. 10

Oh, just wanted to add we live in a house.

  11. 11

EDIT again: I also have the Advion gel tubes.
So to conclude the “artillery” is:

    Advion gel
    Cy Kick CS
    CY Kick Aerosol
    Harris Boric Acid w lure
    Gentrol discs
Hot Shot Natural Contact (wintergreen oil) spray

Thanks in advance for the support & sorry for the edits.

  12. 12

    Hi Angela,
First and foremost, two products that we do not carry are the Harris Boric Powder with lure and the Hot Shot contact spray. However, we have similar products so I might have an idea on how they work.
Hot Shot and Cy-Kick Aerosol are going to work the same way…instant knockdown kill with no lasting residual. For German Cockroaches, this is fairly ineffective.
There is no particular time to apply the Cy-kick CS outside or place the Gentrol Point Source stations. If you would like, you can treat inside first and then apply Cy-Kick outside while the air is off and the treatment is drying.
I want you to keep in mind though that for German Roach problems, rather than contact kill insecticides like Cy-kick or Hot shot, we recommend baits. Boric Acid is a type of bait but it is limited on where it can be applied. It is a powder so it definitely won’t cling onto surfaces. We recommend the Dupont Advion Roach Bait Gels that can be applied to areas like under the sink, under the cabinets, on window sills, around the door frames, behind and under the appliances, behind the toilet and etc. If you are using baits, it is not necessary to turn off the AC unit.
If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to let me know! ๐Ÿ™‚

i have a german roach problem, my main problem is in my kitchen and my bathroom but now i am starting to see them here and there in my bedrooms! i have 5 young kids and really need help getting rid of them please tell me the best things to buy. we have bombed the house once and it was okay for a couple of wks but now i realize we need something much stronger, please help!

  14. 14

    Hi Krystal,
The best thing to use for a German roach infestation are roach baits like bait gels and bait stations. We recommend the Dupont Advion Roach Gel Bait or the Maxforce Magnum roach gel. We also recommend using the Maxforce Roach Bait Stations for areas like corners on the floor or on countertops.

  15. 15

yes i wonder what to use from the stores thats best for our roach the german roaches we have. we got them bad but not very very bad. i see alot at nite and hardly any in the day. whats the best product to use .

  16. 16

ok does walmart any store like that have that stuff

  17. 17

Sigh…I have lived in my home for over 6 years and have never came across anything but the occasional small spider. Well, 6 months ago I found a roach on the kitchen floor. Killed it and put it in a baggie so I could figure out what kind it was. It turned out to be a German roach! (GAG!!!!) My in-laws keep them and were over visiting earlier that day. Well, didn’t come across anymore until almost 6 months later. I would see 1 or 2 of them every few days at night. I killed them right on the spot and then ordered the gel bait, IGRs (I think that’s what they’re called) and dusted my basement and corners of home with muleteam powder. Sprayed outside of my home and in basement too. I haven’t seen anything for over 2/3 weeks now…did I win?? And how possible is it that my mother in law brought them in with her in her purse?? She’s a hoarder and has mice, spiders, and roaches. No one can help her because she refuses help and ignores her problems. But, how likely are the German roaches coming from her and what do I do to keep an infestation from happening in the future?? HELP!! PLEASE!!

  18. 18

Also, we live in a beautiful 100 year old home. Like I stated previously, we have never came across anything other than the occasional small spider from time to time. Our home I’m sure has many openings for pest to enter. We live in the city and have some very unclean neighbors!!! Is it possible that the roaches came from them instead of my mother in law’s purse? (She has openly admitted she keeps them though. That is why I assume it is her bringing them in)I have never had to deal with roaches in my entire life before!! The stress it has caused me is high…not to mention the shame. If I killed 1 roach 6 months ago and didn’t see anymore until recently, does that mean I have had them the entire time with out knowing? Does it sound like a light infestation if I only came across 1 or 2 every few nights and once again, is it more likely that my poor mother in law brought them in with her purse…or that they came from our filthy next door neighbor who lives about 40 feet from our home. It’s sad either way because we are tidy and clean ourselves. Thanks in advance for any future info and advice you may give me!!

  19. 19

    Hi Crystal,
The best thing to purchase for German roach control are bait products. For indoor roach control, we usually recommend a gel formulation of the bait. Dupont Advion Roach Bait Gel and Maxforce Magnum Roach Bait are two of the baits that we carry. These products are very popular and greatly effective. They cannot be purchased at a local hardware store, but if you would like to give us a call at 1-800-788-4142, we can take an order over the phone and have it shipped out for you. If orders are placed before 2PM EST, we can have it shipped out for you on the same business day. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

  20. 20

    Hi Inez,
Unfortunately, there is no real preventative for roaches. You just have to be careful about what you are bringing into the house. It is a possibility that your mother in law is carrying them in if she has a serious infestation at her home. It’s important that you maintain the home with the right products so that you do not have an increased activity level in the infestation. We don’t care muleteam powder, so I cannot really give you much information on it, but if it seems to be working, you should stick with it. But the IGR is crucial to roach maintenance and the gel bait will help with killing the nest (if there is one) because the roaches will share the poison with the rest of the infestation. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

  21. 21

    Hi Inez,
Actually, before I did mention that it may really be coming from your mother in law, but the possibility that they are being pushed out of your neighbor’s home and into your home is also high. To protect your home from the outside means that if the roaches cross the insecticide barrier from your neighbor’s, they will be killed as they come in contact with the insecticide barrier. But I think you are doing fine with the indoor control and so just keep up with maintenance. If you are not seeing them recently, you may have got them under control. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

Help! A few days ago my wife spotted what looked like a german roach in the kitchen in the morning. We live in Florida and didnโ€™t think anything of it. The next morning she saw a few scatter as she turned the light on. She started to become more concerned as we have a 5 month old girl. This morning she said she saw about 10 scatter when the she turned on the light in the kitchen. We purchased a used fridge about a month ago and I feel this is where the problem came from. I have not seen them anywhere else in the house except the kitchen floor. I had a bottle of ortho home defense max and sprayed under the cabinets, under and behind all the appliances and around the perimeter of the kitchen. After I was finished I started reading that doing that may make the problem worse. Is that true? My parents had a palmetto bug problem and sprayed once a week for a month or two and eliminated the problem. I feel german roaches are much harder to eliminate. I definitely donโ€™t want them anywhere else in the house. I have ordered the maxforce an advion baits along with Gentrol IGR., which should be here next week. My wife and I cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom and did not find one roach anywhere, but my wife is very worried. She feels they are multiplying in the walls as we speak. She wants to call a professional for $700 but I would like to control them myself if possible. Any advice would be helpful!! Thanks for your time.

  23. 23

    Hi Dustin,
The baits that you purchased are ideal for German roach infestations. It’s not necessary to apply both types of bait, but you should definitely apply the Gentrol IGR. Some target areas for the baits would be underneath the cabinets alone the base of the kitchen, under the sink, behind and under appliances (stove, refrigerator, microwave, and etc.), under the high cabinets, and etc. You can also apply the baits in the bathrooms and laundry room where there are secondary water sources for the roaches. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

I have german roaches in my kruig coffee maker. i already tried a roach fog bomb and bait. they keep coming back. im ready to throw my coffee maker in in the trash, tired of larva and/or bug parts in my coffee. any ideas?

  25. 25

    Hi Simone,
Gel baits around your coffee maker is the safest and best way to control the roaches. We also recommend a thorough cleaning of your coffee maker. We recommend the Dupont Advion Roach Gel Bait. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

    Hello Simone Again,
We apologize for the confusion; however, it does look like your inquiry was replied to already. We recommended bait gels to put around your Keurig coffee maker as it is the safest way. We also recommended a thorough cleaning of the coffee maker. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

A bug just fell out of my attic when I opened the door. I will not venture up there, now that I’m pretty sure I’ve identified it as a german cockroach. I have been living here over 9 months and this is the first I’ve seen. I do not see them in the kitchen or any other living areas, just the one that fell out of the attic. I am a pet owner. What would you do? Should I call a professional or since I only saw one, could I treat this myself?

  30. 30

    Hi Lynsey,
You can definitely treat this yourself. We recommend using bait gels for German Roaches. The Dupont Advion Roach Bait Gel or the Maxforce FC Roach Bait Gel is effective for roach control. Apply the bait gel in the isolated areas of infestation that are out of reach by your pets. You can also apply them behind toilets, under sinks, in cracks or crevices, under cabinets, and etc. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

  31. 31

Hey this is a reaction to Joans comment above… I am so erked. So my parents live in dallas texas. My dad was having issues with roaches in his keureg. I cleaned the keureg thoroughly and took it home to Iowa with me. I boasted to him when i took it that i lived in iowa so i wouldn’t need to worry about about roaches. I was pretty confident in this statement i figured below freezing weather is worth not having roaches. I wake of this morning to put in my k-cup to find a freaking roach. Has anyone figured out the best way to get rid of them. it is currently 5 degrees outside. can i stick the machine outside and will that kill them off ?

  32. 32

    Hi Bobby Dennis,
If you leave the coffee maker outside, there are just chances that it will leave the coffee maker and make its way back indoors. You want to make sure you are treating the roach problem with proper products. The product that we recommend to use is Dupont Advion Roach Bait Gel. It is a gel that is applied in pea-sized amounts under the Keurig and around the Keurig. You can also use the gel under and behind other appliances like the microwave, refrigerator, stove, and etc. The gel is also an ideal product to use under the sink and behind the toilet as well as under cabinets and behind the laundry machines. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

  33. 33

hi we have a huge german roach problem and i cant stand it we have tried everything and nothing seems to be working.. why and what do we do???? we have tried pest controls motels bait gel and relgular spray just about everything and nothing is working what do u do???please help!!!

  34. 34

    Hi Michelle,
Baits are the best, so perhaps you are not using the write type of bait? I’m not sure why they would not work. Really though, an integrated approach of non-chemical control as well as chemical control is the best. Firstly, regular sanitation with cleaning grease and crumbs is necessary. Also, since German roaches will nest near a water supply, you should check for moisture problems like leaking and etc. There are three different types of insecticides that are primarily used for a complete German roach control program. These include gel baits, pre-baited bait stations, and liquid concentrate insecticide. The following is a link to where you can use each type of insecticide: Cockroach Control Guide The recommended products are Suspend SC, Maxforce Magnum or Dupont Advion Roach Control Gel, and Maxforce Roach Bait Stations or Dupont Advion Roach Bait Arenas. Since baits cannot be applied to the same areas that the liquid concentrate solution has been sprayed, the general rule of thumb is to “spray down low and bait up high” so you would consider spraying baseboard areas and the lower parts of the door frame as well as underneath the appliances like the stove and refrigerator and then apply baits in higher locations like under the cabinets, on top of counters, right below the sinks, behind the toilet and etc. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

  35. 35

I have good news for the poeple that are fighting a losing battle when it comes to roaches.my mother found out from her grandmother how to handle the problem.she found in very old newpapers that back in the days when they used ships to transport goods by sea in the 1600’s,that they used ginger snap cookies to keep the bugs and roaches away.so, all you have to do is buys the cookies and put them everywhere.put them in the cabnits and under everything in the kitchen.it will take about 2 or 3 weeks to work, but it was tested years ago and it really works.the sugar draws them and then the gingers kills them.I thought I would share this tip so everyone can know how it works.good luck and never give up on your problem.you will win when you have ginger snap cookies on your side.

  36. 36

    Hi Crystal,
I wonder if this will really work…I would assume though, that the cookies would attract other pests too! I don’t know if I would choose this particular method, but really, if it works, why not right? hahaha. Thanks for the advice, but I will stick to recommending the gel baits which also work really well.

  37. 37

I just moved into an older house (march 1) and my landlords didn’t mention the roach problem until I signed my one year lease. the entire house us infested even my neighbor is complaining about it. My landlord is sending someone out to spray for the third time tomorrow I need a solution to this problem fast I refuse to move any of my furniture in until they are gone I’ll sleep in my car for a month if I have to. I am terrified of all bugs and roaches are number 2 on my list. I have already bought bombs and gel baits from Walmart but I was going to wait until the exterminator comes to spray again to use them. Please help I want something that is safe and not harmful to animals have a 3 year old pom and 8 week old chihuahua in my house. I really am sleeping in my car, I am to scared to sleep inside. Thanks in advance.

  38. 38

    Hi Trina,

I’m not sure how effective the products from Wal-Mart are because the chemical content in over the counter products are much lower than professional grade products. We advise that when you use the gel baits, that you do not apply them in areas that have been treated with the spray by the professional as the active ingredients can be neutralized. If you are having a professional treat your home, you should mention baiting for roaches with either a gel or bait stations. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

  39. 39

Have lived in condo for 4 yrs when the german roaches appeared. they were multiplying and bait traps and spray did not work. I read the article that said to first clean out your cabinets, then apply Maxforce Roach gel in crevices and base of cabinets. They disappeared and have not come back (six months now). I purchased the gel at Wal-Mart and have to admit I did not want to empty my cabinets and wash them down BUT I did it and am so glad. Don’t know where the german roaches were coming from and I could not afford the $250 charge for a pest company. Gels do work. In the five years I have lived in the condo, I generally sprinkle boric acid around the exterior periodically so eliminate them coming indoors. Boric acid is inexpensive and work very well.

  40. 40

Hello, i have an issue that is very upsetting! I just bought a car from a private seller. Now 4 days later i get in it at night to go pick up my 7 month old and 4 year old. As i open the door i see the German roaches scatter. I killed at least 7 of them on my sons carseat. I am now afraid to even put my children in the car. How can I get them out of my car and treat my house just in case i brought them in?

  41. 41

    Hi Ashlea,

We recommend using bait gels in cracks and crevices. We recommend the Advion Roach Bait Gel to put under the seats, in tight cracks and crevices and even in the trunk space. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

  42. 42

Hi. I have a bad bad infestation of roaches. I have used the Dupont, combat gels, notice acid, etc. You name it I’.ve used it. Can’t get rid of them. Don’t have water damage and keep a clean house. Cleaner the house the heavier they get. Everytime I use a termination spray, gel or spray they get heavier. Been fighting them now for 5 years now. Even called the exterminator. He is out of options. What now?

  43. 43

    Hi David,

We recommend a complete control with a combination of outdoor and indoor control with the combination of both liquid spray treatments and bait treatments. This guide that was put out by Bayer Maxforce is a good resource to refer to to see what a complete control for roaches are: http://www.pestmall.com/PDF/maxforce_Cockroach_Solution_Guide.pdf
If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

My husband and I just moved into a house a few days ago that has german cockroaches. I am utterly disgusted by them. We bought bait stations and boric acid as well as caulking every single opening we could find in the house to keep them from getting in. I wont even eat in the house but unfortunately do not have the money to move. I cannot afford an exterminator at this time. Is there anything else I can do to help get rid of these nasty things?

    Hi Andrea,
There is in fact a cost effective solution to get rid of German Cockroaches. I would recommend a product called Dupont Advion Cockroach Bait Gel. You will just need to apply the gels in areas where you are mostly seeing the roaches. German roaches like to live 3-5 feet from a water source so it is likely you may see a lot of their activity in the kitchen, bathroom, or laundry room area. When leaving the bait gels out, it is very important to eliminate any competitive food sources such as trash, pet foods, and other food scraps. It is also important that you do not squish or kill any roaches during the time the bait gels are in effect. Not killing the roaches during the bait treatment allows the roaches to fully ingest the bait poison and spread their droppings through out the wall void areas or in their nesting areas where other roaches will then consume the droppings and be affected by the secondary poisoning.

Advion gel bait is a very good product. Before I use this product thought of myself, can I live in my home or not? How did I came up this freaky crawly demon in my home. Right now, after used advion gel most of them all gone. May be I have to keep it applying that until I am satisfied with my project. I am telling that atleast I am so happy with the product of my project and now I can enjoy sitting in my living room and watch my favourite shows to relax myself after all worked hard and looking forward to come home and relax.

I have been living in my mobile home for 7 years now and have never seen any bugs other than some cellar spiders. Well, last week I noticed a German roach in my kitchen. I thought it was a fluke and killed it and didn’t think much about it again until the other night when I flipped on the light in my kitchen and saw a few scatter in and around the sink. I keep a very clean home, no dishes in the sink and dishwasher run every night. I try to keep things swept up. My neighbors apparently didn’t have trash service and were keeping their trash in their shed and a couple of weeks ago cleaned it out. This was news to me. I am assuming that this is where the little nasty things came from. My husband sprayed the perimeter of the house with demon and around the baseboards and under the appliances and I bought the advion bait gel. The kitchen sink and dishwasher are in an island in the middle of the kitchen. I put bait on a piece of cardboard in the sink and under the dishwasher. We bought 99% boric acid to put under the house. I am curious as to whether or not that is the correct way to treat and whether or not there is something more we can do to keep them from coming in in the first place. My skin is crawling and I cannot even sleep without wanting to get out of bed and check to see if they are invading my space! Thank you!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yikes! That’s not good… sorry to hear about your frustrating roach infestation. It sounds like you are taking all the correct measures to control their numbers. Just give it a couple days and you will begin to see results in their numbers decreasing. Good luck!
