How to Get Rid of Pharaoh Ants
Pharaoh ants are around 1/16″ long and are usually pale yellow to red and the abdomen are most of the time darker to black. The thorax is uneven and they have stingers. They are very common in homes and hospitals and because they are so small, it enables them to get into any area. They have a very large colonies with many queens and will mate throughout the year which enables them to form multiple colonies fast. Pharaoh ants consume sweets, grease, ead insects, meats, and open wounds. Hospitals should be extra careful because they will enter the wounds of patients, in-use IV bottles, and seek moisture from the mouths of sleeping infants.
INSPECTION
Pharoah ants nests in warm, humid areas that are near their food source. You can find them in wall voids, behind baseboards, in furniture, under floors, and between linens.
CONTROL METHODS
We recommend to use baits (DUPONT ADVION ANT GEL BAIT ,MAXFORCE ANT BAIT GEL, ADVANCE 375A SELECT GRANULAR ANT BAIT ) and not liquid sprays because they will not die but instead multiply. The reason we recommend baits is that so the ants can carry back the bait to kill of the entire colony. You will need to place the one bait (DUPONT ADVION ANT GEL BAIT ,MAXFORCE ANT BAIT GEL,ADVANCE 375A SELECT GRANULAR ANT BAIT ) per ant line you see without disturbing the ants because they will just relocate to a different part of the home. It is suggested that you place the baits at the entrance and exit of the ants. Using BAIT TRAY apply some of Advance 375 and place them where you see many ant activities. For outside treatment, you can use a liquid spray (PHANTOM TERMITICIDE / INSECTICIDE ) using a hand sprayer (CHAPIN 1 GALLON SPRAYER). Spray a band around the structure of your home which will cause a “barrier” around your home to help prevent the pharoah ants to enter your home. DO NOT SPRAY or DISSTURB the ants or the BAIT STATIONS.
