Do bed bug bites ever swell up and become big?

Thursday, 14. April 2011 15:41

Q      :  Do bed bug bites ever swell up and become big?

A       : Some people show severe reaction to the anesthetic saliva from the bed bugs whereas others don’t show a reaction at all. Therefore, swelling may occur when you are bit from bed bugs or you may show no signs of bites at all! Keep in mind that bites may or may not be from bed bugs. It’s also very difficult to diagnose an infestation just by bites alone since there are many parasitic insects that are known to bite people, which can manifest as an allergic reaction in the form of a rash, red spots, swelling, and etc. Swelling may also occur with allergic reactions to other bug bites as well such as spider bites or ant bites.
