Flea Control

When fleas become a serious problem in house, carpets and rugs are usually the prime areas where most fleas reside. There, fleas will multiply laying eggs in almost every corner possible. If left untreated, your flea dilemma can become a serious and “almost impossible” infestation to secure. Flea granules are one of the most convenient solutions for homeowners to date. We strongly recommend the use of flea granules especially when the infestation is little more than overwhelming. As flea granules target flea eggs and larva, an application of flea granules will help stop population growth.

Q. backyard flea control
Is this GRANULAR product good only for lawns? I like to know because I do have a big backyard but don't have a lawn. There are fruit tress as well as grasses and that's it. With your help, I like to know which is best that I should go for. Should it be GRANULAR? or the CONCENTRATED product. Also, I like to know which of those products in your website I should purchase.
A.   Pesticides cannot be used around fruit trees. But granulars do not have to be used only on grassy lawns. Also, the most optimal control will come from using both the Granular product on the lawn and concentrated liquid spray on the walls of the home as a barrier. Talstar is a great product for fleas and Talstar makes both the liquid concentrate and the granule.

Q. granular for Flea Control
I think i like to try that granule product. But i'm not sure it is ok with my dogs. Do you think it is safe for the dogs to play with it? They might bite it and what else. In your website, there are lots of insecticide for flea but I don't know which one to get. I even check some of them, reading what their description says but some of them are not ok to use here in California. By the way, are those GRANULE products better than those concentrated ones? I mean those that need to be mix with water. Please let me know.
A.   The Talstar PL is a granular that is registered in CA and also has fleas listed as a target pest on the product label.

It is alright for reentry by children, pets, and yourself after the granule has activated. We recommend that you wait an entire 24 hours before you let your dogs back out on the lawn.

Also, for outdoor control, granules will be better on the lawn because it will provide a longer residual time. The concentrated insecticides that you dilute with water and spray provide a residual of about 2-3 months outside, but granules will provided a longer residual at 3-4 months.

Q. Are Flea granules safe for honey bees.
We have become infested with fleas and are having trouble finding something to treat our yard with that will not affect the honey bees or our free range chickens.
A.   The only product we carry in which you can use safely around honey bees is Mavrik Perimeter. It is stated on the label that "Dried residues of Mavrik Perimeter are non-toxic and non-repellent to honey bees. Treat during nonforaging periods to minimize adverse effects. Once the product has fully dried it is also safe for people and pets or other animals to reoccupy the area.

Q. A flea control that rdies out the carpet so the fleas don't have moisture for their nest
A.   We do not have a product that has been specifically designed to help eliminate a moisture problem in areas that fleas may be residing in. However we do have a flea powder called Flea Stoppers which will sink deeply into the carpeting areas, killing the eggs, larvae, and adult fleas that come in contact with this powder.
