One of the largest investments someone can make will be their houses. In order to make this kind of investment worthwhile, you need to make sure you are protecting it by all means possible, even if it is from a pesky bug. Termites are considered one of the most damaging wood pests in the Unites States and also one of the most dreaded pests by homeowners. In order to gain the most complete control, the pest control market has manufactured one of the most practical termite control products. Termite granules have proven to work as one of the best supplemental termite control products for outdoor use as well as sole protection of other termite infested wood materials that are located outdoors including fence posts, utility poles, and etc.

Keep in mind that termite granules are high in chemical content and are not to be consumed. For more information on what termite granule best fits the type of termite infestation that has invaded your structure, feel free to call us at 1-800-788-4142 to talk to a Pest Mall technician.

Why Use Termite Granules?

The termite granules that are provided by Pest Mall are the same grade termite granules that professionals are using to treat your home for termite invasions and so you can trust that these products are efficient in what they were made to do. They can be applied to a variety of areas like directly onto bare soil, on landscaped areas, in mulch, on turf grass and etc. Furthermore, it attacks termites that are in areas surrounding the wooden structure as well as non-structural wood-to-soil contact situations. Because it is a granule formulation, termite granules do not require prior set-up and you do not have to worry about mixing a solution. Moreover, there is no water needed and bulky equipment is not necessary. Just apply it as it is in the correct application rate and simply, leave it alone to activate. You can also use termite granule termiticides in conjunction with or even after a stand-alone treatment and it is even good to use before a full structural treatment. By using termite granules, you can start protecting your house immediately, without having to wait for other treatment methods.

How to Effectively Use Termite Granules

Keep in mind that the professional termite granules that are made available by Pest Mall are labeled for outdoor spot treatment and also perimeter application. However, this does not limit the fact that the termite granules are a great supplemental product to other termiticide treatments. Apply termite granules outdoors nearby areas that are concentrated in termite infestations. These locations include but are not limited to the perimeter of a structure, fence posts or poles, utility poles, or other wooden constructions. When they are applied to the soil, soil moisture or precipitation will cause the active ingredient to release. This establishes a residue in the top few inches of the ground. However, it is not limited to soil treatments and can be applied to turf or landscaped areas. Apply termite granule as a perimeter band application that is adjacent to the infested structure and reapply the granules every 4-5 months.

Q. is termite granule used in pre construction and mixed up in cement?
A.   No, it cannot be mixed up in cement. It can be used preconstruction on the soil around the perimeter of the structure, however, the residual will last about 3-4 months. Otherwise, use the granules post-construction to target isolated areas of infestation. We recommend liquid trench treatment for preconstruction termite control.

Q. How does sunlight affect Termite Granule Life ?
Granule re-application recommended in 4-5 months. But what about areas on dry concrete with exposure to sunlight ? How long will granules be effective in sunlight ?
A.   Lots of sunlight exposure will eventually break down the chemicals. Therefore granules on top of concrete areas may break down faster than the granules which have been soaked into the ground.

I believe I have drywood termites by the back door molding.Pellets are being kicked out through little holes in the molding.I have tried the foam and aren't sure what to do next.Might have to remove all molding to see whats there. Not sure of the choices I have.Maybe I have to tent the house so embarrassing unless you have another idea. Thanks P M
A.   Termite foam should be effective for drywood termites. We also recommend using Boracare that behaves like a wood preservative as well as an insecticide. We wonder what termite foam you have used to treat the Drywood termites. The termite foam that we will usually recommend is Premise Foam.
