To think that that the dreadful ticks not only bite you but they also reproduce at an alarming rate. Under perfect conditions, a female tick can deposit up to 5,000 eggs and drop them in cracks and crevices around your home. Scarier than that is the fact that ticks are not only parasitic, but can transmit disease pathogens like Lyme disease. Moreover, they don’t just bite your dogs or cats, but they can most definitely bite you as well. It’s horrendous to think that such bugs can infest a home in a short period of time. However, Pest Mall is more than happy to provide a method of control that can ultimately decrease their rate of reproduction. With tick IGRs, a homeowner can stop their development and ultimately stop ticks from reproducing. All the tick IGRs that are provided by Pest Mall are professional grade, which gives you all the more reason to trust that these products are efficient and will definitely provide lasting control.

What is a Tick IGR?

IGR stands for Insect Growth Regulator. There are many insect pests that can be controlled with an insect growth regulator and ticks are one type of the insects that are most commonly controlled with an IGR. Tick IGRs are chemicals that prohibit the ticks from maturing. They disrupt the life cycle during the larvae stage of the developmental cycle. Ultimately, because the ticks are not able to become fully mature, they are unable to reproduce. Professional pest control management companies will generally use the term “birth control” for ticks to give a better understanding to their customers.

Why Use Tick IGR?

Although tick insect growth regulators do not have a killing effect, they are a crucial insecticide in tick control programs. Because you know that ticks are reproducing at an alarming rate, no matter how much contact kill insecticide you apply to an area, there will always be a group of ticks that survive and continue to breed and reproduce. Before they are able to grow to a stage where they are able to reproduce, use the tick IGR to make sure that their developmental cycles have been disrupted. To interrupt or halt the life cycle will mean that you will have smaller and less severe infestations to handle and ultimately, tick control will be much easier. Furthermore, you can trust that with tick growth regulators, you will have lasting control. You can think long-term rather than a short term instant gratification.

How to Effectively Use Tick IGR

The tick insect growth regulators that are made available by Pest Mall are all professional grade pest control products that professional pest control management companies are using to treat ticks in your home and business. These are liquid concentrate tick IGRs that are diluted in water and sprayed to concentrated areas of infestation. Many times, they are mixed with actual tick liquid concentrate insecticides that do have a killing effect and the two products are used in conjunction with each other. You do not need to worry about neutralization because the active ingredients in the tick IGRs and the active ingredients in most killing insecticides will not neutralize each other. This makes for just one solution and one easy application. Furthermore, the IGR does not have to be mixed with a killing liquid concentrate at all. If desired, you can apply the IGR itself to areas of infestation to control their development. Tick IGR can be applied both indoor and outdoor as long as the treated area is left alone to dry. Outdoor, apply Tick IGR as a barrier treatment around the perimeter of the structure. Inside, apply the IGR in cracks and crevices where many tick will be found.

Keep in mind that although tick insect growth regulators do not have a killing effect, they are highly chemically based and can possibly work negatively against non-target animals like your pets and people. Before you come in contact with the treated area, leave it alone to dry. Also, DO NOT apply tick IGR directly on your pet. You can apply this onto the pet bedding and the areas that your pet rests, however, keep it restricted until after the treated area is dry.
