Many news reports in recent years have focused on the discovery of bed bugs in upscale hotels, and a number of lawsuits have been filed by guests in these fashionable hotels that awoke to find hundreds of bed bug bites covering their skin. Searching on Tripadvisor and other travel- review sites regularly reveals information and even photos confirming the presence of bed bugs in numerous hotels.

Travelers increasingly encounter bed bugs during their stays away from home. Also most of the residual products do not affect the bed bug eggs, as where the heat treatment can eliminate the eggs. A heat remediation treatment usually works effectively in 48 hours while residuals can take up to several days. ThermEx seems to be discussed among facilities that house large number of people and can not use chemical treatments due health risks.
The downside to any potential solution is that bed bugs can be reintroduced to any residential property easily. The reason motels and hotels may be most interested in a more comprehensive solution is that these facilities are often an insect way station for bed bugs. They come and go through the luggage and clothing to guests.
Although the ThermEx states that chemical residual do not work with bed bug eggs there are specials chemicals IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) to prevent reproduction. Another downside of the ThermEx is the cost, being in high cost level it is not easily to continue the service over and over again.

These are only a few of the reported cases since the turn of the 21st century.
