Where Bed bugs Hide?

Bed Bugs flattened bodies allow them to conceal themselves in cracks and crevices around the room and within furniture. For areas that are hard to reach it is better to use long residual, contcentrate pesticides such as Cyonara 9.7, Demand CS, or Suspend SC these products have the ability to absorb into the wall and cervices and lasts up to six months. Bed bugs are most common in areas where people sleep. Generally the bed, mattress and box springs, and bed frames. Mattress and furniture that come into contact should be treated using a non residual and given enough time to completely dry before using again. Products such as Steri Fab or Rest Easy are recommend in these cases to prevent skin irrations. Other sites can include curtains, outside corners and inside dressers, cracks in wall paper, couches and clutter around the room.

Why it's hard to find bed bugs.

Bed bugs travel easily and quickly along pipes and boards, and their bodies are very flat, which allows them to hide in tiny crevices. For pipe line or electric socks it is recommend using Dust Products such Delta Dust, Drione Dust, or Mother Earth Dust will not damage or mess up the electric system. The key when using dust products is to spread an even layer and not using too much (for when there is too much product it will not attack the pest) using a duster such as Bellow Blub Duster. Bed Bugs can wander between adjoining apartments through voids in walls and holes though which wires and pipes pass. In the daytime, they tend to stay out of the light, preferring to remain hidden in such places as mattress seams, mattress interiors, bed frames, nearby furniture, carpeting, baseboards, inner walls, tiny wood holes, or bedroom clutter. Bedbugs can be found on their own, but more often congregate in groups. Bedbugs are capable of travelling as far as 100 feet to feed, but usually remain close to the host in bedrooms or on sofas where people may sleep.

Bed bugs seek harborage in cracks and crevices. Common harborages in hotel rooms and cruise ship cabins include, folds and creases in bed linens, seams, tufts and under buttons on mattresses, in drapery pleats and hems, entertainment centers and nightstands, behind base molding in wall -mounted art work. Bedbugs also like to hide in electrical outlets. Bed bugs are rather flat, allowing them to hide in tiny creases. A crevice big enough to fit a business care can house bed bugs. For commerical areas or areas that need to be treated quickly it is recommended to use aerosol that have a knock down kill method, but are long residual and will treat up to six months. Such products as Bedlam, V one Pyrethrum, or Clear Zone work well.

You will be able to find bed bugs around their food source

Bed Bugs will usually take refuge some place beat their food source. Since their food source is mostly sleeping humans, the most logical place to find a bed bug is near the bed. Bed bugs will use their small flat bodies to hide themselves in cracks and crevices or folds of sheets and mattresses. Bed Bugs will stay hidden during the day, and come out only at night to feed. This makes them very difficult to detect, and infestations can become very large and out of control before have ever been seen.

Find Bedbugs using their characteristics

Bed Bugs are known for being elusive, transient, and nocturnal, making them difficult to detect. A technique for catching bedbugs in the act is to have a light source quickly accessible from your bed and to turn it on at about an hour before dawn, which is usually the time when bedbugs are most active. A flashlight/ torch is recommended instead of room lights, as the act of getting out of bed will cause any bedbugs present to scatter before you can catch them. If you awaken during the night, leave your lights off but use your flashlight/ torch to inspect your mattress. Bedbugs are fairly fast in their movements, about equal to the speed of ants. They may be slowed down if engorged. When the bedroom light is switched on, it may temporary startle them allowing time for you to get a dust pan and brush kept next to the bed sweep the bugs into the pan then immediately sweep them into a cup or mug full of water where the bugs drown quickly. Dispose of the water down the sink or toilet. Disinfect the mattress, skirting boards and so on regularly.

Other ways to find bed bugs

You can look to see if you can identify the fecal stains, eggs cases, and exuviae (shed skins) in crevices and cracks on or near beds. You should also look at other areas such as under wall paper, behind pictures frames, in couches and other furniture, in bed springs, and even in articles of clothing. While fecal stains and skins casts suggest that bed bugs have been present, these do not confirm that the infestation is still active.
