A Honey Refractometer is a precision instrument that will help the beekeeper to measure out or determine the moisture content of honey. This refractometer comes equipped with three different scales that will help you determine the temperature levels, the moisture content, and the sugar content of the honey. It requires just one drop of honey for inspection. By holding the refractometer to the sun, you can easily see and determine the moisture content. Keep in mind that a good moisture level for honey is typically 17.5% but can be anywhere in between 17-18%. The common mistake of harvesting when the moisture content is above 18% means that the honey can ferment much faster than normal. Use this honey refractometer to be as accurate as possible when harvesting.
