Why Use Liquid Termite Treatment Methods?

Depending on the area that is concentrated with a termite infestation, different termite insecticides can be used to eliminate the colony. However, one of the most traditional and effective ways you can control all species of termites is to use a liquid termite control insecticide. Time is of the essence in dire situations when termites have already begun to invade a wooden structure. Some of the termiticides that are available on the market may be effective but may not show results for some time. Liquid termiticides are one of the most fast acting insecticides available right now and will begin to activate almost as soon as it is applied. Furthermore, liquid termiticides are able to directly fight against termite colonies. The formulation is able to be applied closer to the termite infestation than other control methods. Liquid termite control methods require less maintenance and clean up. It can be used as a surface treatment, a wood injection treatment, or a ground treatment. Liquid termite control insecticides provide a long residual and you can trust that it will control your termite infestation with optimal efficiency. Moreover, many of the liquid termiticides also act as an insecticide to some of the most destructive wood attacking pests including carpenter ants, wood boring beetles, and also even wood attacking fungus.

How to Effectively Use Liquid Termite Treatment Products

Application methods of liquid termite control products will all depend on the area and the type of infestation you are facing.

  • Liquid Termiticides Spray: When termiticides are sprayed on or even brushed on to surfaces of wood materials, it does not have as long of a residual. For liquid termiticides to be the most effective, it should be allowed to soak through the wood. Wood surfaces should be bare. Once the sprayed on or brushed on termiticides diffuse with the wood, it acts as a preservative and is not able to be broken down except by heavy, flowing water trends that may force the material out of the wood.
  • Direct Injection into Wood: There are cases where the wood cannot be sanded down and it is almost impossible to create a situation where the wood can be sprayed on for the termiticide to soak through. In instances like this, holes can be drilled into the wood and the liquid termiticide can be infected into the wood. Although it seems a little bit more tedious than spraying on a liquid termiticide, injecting solutions into the wood will be just as effective.
  • Trench Treatment or Ground Treatment: Often times, one of the most effective methods of control for subterranean termites is to use liquid termiticides for direct ground treatment. The concept of trench treatment is to create an underground barrier of liquid termite insecticides so that you can protect your structure from the massive underground termite colonies.

Q. Termite termiticide/insecticide.
I am looking for a treatment for roof beams that have active termite some areas can only be accessed via a long sick or sprayer can you help ? the roof is on an occupied dwelling also looking for effective external ant control
A.   Thank you for contacting us with your concern. For treatment in the roof area we recommend that you use boracare termiticide/insecticide. This product will thoroughly soak through the wood on unfinished surfaces.

For ant treatment indoors it is best to use an ant gel and bait then since they are always foraging for food. Dupont advion ant gel is an excellent brand many professionals use for indoor ant control.

Q. Termidor V Dominion
What is the difference between this item "Termidor" and "Dominion"
A.   The differences will include the active ingredient, yield, residual time, and manufacturer. Also, the type of product is different in that Dominion is a systemic which means that in the ground, plants will take up the chemical through their roots. Moreover, Dominion has many lawn pests on the product label, but Termidor is strictly for termites and some species of ants.

Q. I just purchased a double wide mobile home & have had 3 different estimates for termite treatment(mud tunnels found around 2 sides of a detached shed). One estimate was for $359, using "Prothor SC2", 2nd est was for $750, using Torace("a generic Termidor"), 3rd est for $693 (unspecified chemical)....any suggestions?
cost is definitely a consideration......my budget is very tight - but I do not want to choose an inferior product just to keep the cost down....the $750 guy says that for $359 you are getting an inferior product. What chemicals can I count on to do it right?
A.   It would actually cheaper overall to do the treatment yourself using Termidor which is the best termiticide on the professional market. However if you had to chose between the three chemicals listed above I would suggest going with Torace. The chemicals may be labeled for termite treatment but the residual time of inferior products are a lot shorter.

Q. diy termite control
Hi, I'm looking for the best kind of termite control you offer? There's some confusion about Imidacloprid and Fipronil? Which is better? I have a 28X44 split foyer home with an attached 24X36 garage--concrete slab floors in both. How much will I need to treat the outside and inside? Also, I have drain tile around the outside and inside perimiter of the floors.... Thanks for your time...I work almost every day, and I don't know what your phone hours are?
A.

The two termite chemicals are just different active ingredients.

The Masterline I Maxx Pro that you are inquiring about and also a popular product that attacks termites called Premise both have the active ingredient Imidacloprid.

However, our most popular product for termite control called Termidor, uses the active ingredient Fipronil. All products work the same, in which they all work as repellents.

The difference is that they have different active ingredients and also the concentration and dilution rates for each product are different. It may just come down to the price or active ingredient for you.

As far as the quantity in treatment needed, you will need approximately 105 gallons for a 28x44 and also 24x36. For Termidor, that is just about 5 bottles of Termidor.

For Maxx Pro, It yields 50-100 gallons depending on how much you dilute the product. Therefore it will take approximately 3 bottles of Maxx Pro.

Our phone hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 7pm. You can reach us at 1-800-788-4142. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.

Q. what can be used in a fogger for termintes
A.   Foggers are not recommended for termites because it does not provide a long term control. If you have an isolated termite infestation that you are trying to get rid of, you can use foam termiticide or liquid sprays. Premise is a great product for indoor termite control or you can call at 1-800-788-4142 for other recommendations.

Q. diy termite treatment
What is the difference between Termidor and Dominion 2L?
A.   Termidor and Dominion 2L are different products because of several different reasons. First and foremost, Termidor and Dominion have different active ingredients, which makes the way the products work different as well. Dominion is a systemic insecticide, which means that it is taken up by the roots of the plant and ingested by plant infesting insects as well as a contact kill, however, Termidor is primarily a termiticide that kills by contact. They are manufactured by separate manufacturing companies. Termidor is an original product by BASF and Dominion is actually a generic product manufactured by Control Solutions, who specializes in manufacturing generic products. The list of target pests are also different and although both can be used as a termiticide, Dominion has a larger spectrum of target insect pests. However, Termidor has a longer residual in the ground that Dominion does, which is why it is often times, the selected termiticide.

Q. do it yourself termite control
I HAVE FOUND EVIDENCE OF POSSIBLE TERMITE INVASION (A SERIES OF HOLES IN AN EXTERIOR WALL PLUGGED BY MUD), I HAVE TRENCHED AND USED DOMINION 2L FROM YOU IN JULY. SHOULD I INJECT POISON IN THE HOLES? IF SO, HOW? I LIVE IN JACKSONVILLE, FL
A.   Treatment will depend on how big the infestation is but you will need to drill holes. Each hole will be about 12 inches apart and about 5 inches from the ground. Use Premise Foam and inject the foam into each hole that you drill.

Q. best time to treat..
Given these dimensions and issues, can you please provide the amount of each product that should be purchased? Is there any particular time of the year that is best to treat? Can treatment be done in the winter? What type of equipment should be used to dig the trench?
A.

To trench you will need a drill or you can use a shovel but it will take a very long time.

It is best to treat in the spring time and termidor does last more ten years once it has been trenched.

Also you will need to treat the dug out as well as applying termidor to the trench itself. If termidor is too pricey you can use the other recommend Dominion.

If you treat now your will be covered for the winter time as well. Since you are already infested it is important to treat asap.
