Merit 75 is a wettable powder insecticide for control of turfgrass, ornamental plant and crop pests. Merit works by disrupting nerve impulses of insects, pests will cease to forage, reproduce and eventually die. The product contains Imidaloprid, a compound lethal to insects yet safe for use in plants and crops.

Merit 75 WP - 2 oz.

Merit 75 WP is the leading brand in treating foliar and soil-inhabiting pests in lawns, turf, ornamental plants and crops. Merit is a highly concentrated wettable powder with 75% Imidacloprid, a systemic pesticide widely used due to its effectiveness and low toxicity to plants. Merit provides long lasting preventative and curative control over several outdoor insects. Each jar contains a highly concentrated formula for use in very low rates, greatly saving control costs.

Directions for Use

For maximum control, treatments should be done before or during egg laying periods. After applications, treated areas should be irrigated to ensure an adequate distribution of the active ingredient. Do not apply when soil is saturated with water. Applications should not exceed 8.6 ounces of active ingredient per year. Applications should be done using appropriate application equipment such as sprayers or irrigation systems. Use the product for turfgrass and foliar applications following the recommended rates and applications in the product label. Carefully read the product label for restrictions and application instructions.

Where to Apply

Merit 75 WP is for use outdoors in turfgrass sites such as home lawns, business complexes, shopping complexes, multi-family complexes, golf courses, airports, cemeteries, parks, athletic fields, playgrounds and sod farms.

I can only speak on the carpenter bee traps. We put out four this year (early April) when the carpenter bees came back. Last year we filled, treated and put fresh stain on wood soffits after season in November. We put out traps this year hoping to deter more holes and more bee infestation. The traps didn't work. We swatted them with a tennis racket, put the dead ones inside the bottle in hopes the phermone smell would attract other bees, it didn't. We took dead bees smash and wiped the four holes of each trap, still didn't work. Our last resort is to restain the wood again now before any get inside the wood. We hope the smell of the new stain will be a deterrent. At this point we have sprayed inside the old holes with Sevin Dust, put Seven Dust in the wood filler when filling the old holes last year and coated over with a clear stain. They are driving us crazy.
